Our hire fleet features two beautifully converted mobile horse trailer bars, available for both dry hire or fully stocked and staffed service. Designed and handcrafted by our team at the Okehurst Design HQ, these bespoke trailers are built to the highest standards, ensuring they make a lasting impression at weddings, parties, and events of all kinds. Versatile and multi-functional, our flagship ‘Horse and Saddle’ bar has been described as “an absolute showstopper” and “the most beautiful bar on the market.”

The Story Behind Okehurst Design - Our Story
Okehurst Design began in the summer of 2018 with the launch of our very first trailer bar, The Horse and Saddle. The idea itself, however, was sparked a couple of years earlier.
As part of our family business, Universal Trailers, a trusted Ifor Williams dealer for over 40 years- we had accumulated a collection of vintage, often forgotten horse trailers tucked away in our barn. In 2016, a family engagement between Sophie and Nick set everything in motion. While planning their wedding, the idea emerged to transform one of these old trailers into a unique bar for their special day.
With the wedding set for 2018, the project brought together the perfect mix of passion and skill—a soon-to-be husband who happened to be a talented carpenter and builder, both shared a vision to create something truly memorable.
We took on the challenge of transforming one of these trailers—specifically a 1992 Ifor Williams HB505R—into a one-of-a-kind bar for the wedding. With our creative vision and the craftsmanship of our in-house team, we brought our first mobile bar to life.
The result was something truly special. The feedback was incredible; what began as compliments quickly turned into enquiries and bookings. Before long, The Horse and Saddle became one of the most sought-after mobile bars across Sussex, Surrey, and beyond.
And from that, Okehurst Design was born.
‘The Horse And Saddle’ was thoughtfully handcrafted at our Okehurst HQ, with meticulous attention to detail and a standard of quality that sets it apart- a level of quality we’ve stuck to ever since.
Following the success of The Horse and Saddle, we introduced a second beautifully converted trailer: The Heidi. Originally built as a mobile florist’s shop for a close family friend of ours (Heidi), The Heidi was later reimagined as a versatile mobile bar and catering station. Featuring a soft pale green exterior and elegant copper interior worktops, she’s a stunning addition to any setting. The Heidi is especially popular for corporate events, where her optional roof frame allows for custom branding and signage. She’s also frequently hired for intimate weddings, garden parties, and private celebrations- a stylish, flexible companion to our flagship bar.
In addition to building The Horse and Saddle for the wedding, we also began designing and sourcing a collection of beautiful, handcrafted and vintage pieces to help style and personalise the venue. As a result, alongside our trailer bars, we now offer a carefully curated selection of rustic, vintage, and handmade hireables, from furniture and signage to table décor and beyond. These items can be hired individually or as part of a complete event package. We’ve also added two fridge trailers to our hire fleet.
